Plush's"I am Illiterate" thread

Okay Event viewer. Where's that?

And what scan should I scan with first?

And just to note. This thread has a purpose and is not to be hijacked unless you have usefull tech input. Please refrain from posting if you do not intend to assist. Thank you

RE: Plush's"Help me I am Illiterate" thread

go to you Start Menu

click on Control Panel> Performance and Maintenance> Adminstrative Tools> Event Viewer

now on the left pane click on what you want to view to bring up the log. scroll down to what ever error message that is displayed. it will have either a red circle with a white X or a yellow triangle with a !. click on the entry to hightlight and then right click on it then click Properties. it will now tell you a brief discription of the errors and will even have a hotlink to the Microsoft Knowledge Base Center for more specific details on that particular error

okay i found one that said it had something to do with winamp. I think it was a visualization error. Corjello suggested that and I think he is right. I will still scan to be sure.

there should be a error code that you can check to see what its exactly about.

sometimes WMP will crash and subsequently cause your video driver to go into a infinate loop.

scan with Ewido..then create a HJT log and compare it with your most recent one, if anything is out of the ordinary then go ahead and post it at LS

Well, since it's a script error I would update all of Script software. Or, if you can find out what scripts are used by Winamp then you know specifically which one to update.

Visual Basic, Java, and checking Windows Scripting Host.

You're .NET Framework may be outdated as well, but I would check this as a last resort because it's huge.

But all-in-all a script error isn't really a big deal.
