okay, I had to do an update for zone alarm and now it is giving me trouble...

It keeps telling me there is a true vector error and wont let me get online until about 3 error messages later.

I tried to uninstall it, and it was being a punk about that also and wouldnt let me.

This is a shitty problem to have. It is not easy to fix. Are you fairly good with comps?

One thing that I haven't tried, and you should try first is to try uninstalling it in Safe Mode. If that works it will save you a lot of time.

Restart your pc, and immediately start tapping the F8 key until the boot options screen appears. Choose Safe Mode. Log on as you (you are the Admin right?...probably).

Then try to uninstall. I'll be on for a bit so let me know if that option works.


Do you use CCleaner?

I do have CCleaner on here I beleive, I would keep this program if I had any clue about it.

Okay. Boot into Safe Mode and reinstall ZA over itself. I'm assuming that you still have the installer.

I'll tell you about CCleaner later.

I will have to hunt down the disk later, It is currently MIA.... But I will do it in safe mode...

Okay. Well if you can't find the disk then try a System Restore. Choose a time before the upgrade.

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

By default your system restore should be enabled, and create it's own restore point when a new program is installed.

Therefore, unless you disabled it, you have system restore points and don't know it.

1. Yes, but you can reinstall them.
2. Or find your disk and do a reinstall in Safe Mode.
3. Do it the hard way, and do it manually....that takes a long while.
4. Try using CCleaner to uninstall it, but I don't know if that would work.

so i guess in the long run, it will be done the hard way
