Anyone here going to see the United 93 movie coming out soon? Glenn BEck is talking about it today and he said its POWERFUL. He also said that we need to do whatever we can to stop the terrorists. He said they have one goal and that is to destroy us. That might be another topic but back to the movie...

From what I heard the families want the "heroics" of their family members told. I saw a show on HBO talking about it and they were interviewing the familiy members and they were upset but at the same time happy to see the heroics displayed instead of a "meaningless death"? (I'm not quite sure what was meant by that comment, but one of the family members said it?)
Personally, I knew it was inevitable that there would be a movie deal in it somewhere, but I just have no desire to see it....

And your point is???? Don't have one? Well then shut up and I'll give you one!
Supposedly the director or someone involved in making the movie got the OK from every family that lost someone on Flight 93 so they had 100% approval. I dont think its a documentary type but not an sensationalized one either..

I am not paying a cent to see that movie. I think its a disgrace to see that especially to the families whom lost loved ones. Its sickening to see that being made into a movie.

No, two goals, detroy us, and kill our way of life (freedom). They have taken a part of both aready. Ask me, they are winning.
This is one movie I wont be seeing. yes they want it to be a "drama but a reflection" of the day...a day I wish never passed.
E con, yes they are winning with the rights that have been taken to the point of what you can and cant bring on planes, the searches and what not. the place that they are really winning at is...OIL. the gas prices are a diect result of this.
and i like comedy and cartoon movies, therefore its not one I wish to see.
(to piggy back PG,,, its coming from hollywood.....they did a good job with silkwood, but that was not a known as 9/11)

People have lost alot everywhere and all of is mixed in with our history. I just don't see the big deal. Everything is made into a movie these days. Why should this be any different? And I am sure that someone is reaping the benefits of this movie. Greed will always run the world.

Easy man has a good point though, should they made "Saving Private Ryan" into a movie. What about Pearl Harbor, on and on.
Now of course they made these movies after some due time, its only been 5 years since 9/11 has past. I am not saying I am not going to this movie, because I am going BUT give the families a little bit more time.
Why not give all the money made off this film to the families of that day.

WASHINGTON (AP) Universal Pictures will donate $1.15 million this week toward a memorial to the passengers and crew who perished aboard United Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001 addressing concerns of a lawmaker who has blocked legislation to buy land for the project, the studio said Tuesday.
The donation from Universal, which last week released "United 93," a film about the flight, brings to $9 million the private donations so far. Organizers hope to raise $30 million to build the memorial near Shanksville, Pa., where the plane crashed.
The studio had promised to contribute 10 percent of the film's total box office revenue to the memorial, which is expected to cost about $58 million to build.
The total announced Tuesday represents 10 percent of the opening weekend gross of $11.5 million, and the memorial organizers should have the money by the end of the week, said Michael Moses, an executive at Universal.
