Alcohol suspected in wreck that pinned deputy between cars

 


(3/12/06 - KTRK/HOUSTON) - Alcohol may be to blame for an accident that pinned a deputy between two vehicles.


She was on patrol in northwest Harris County Saturday night. She pulled a driver over on FM 529 at Addicks-Satsuma and was approaching that truck when another truck plowed into her squad car. The deputy was pinned between her car and a truck.



Captain Mike Coleman with the Precinct 5 Constable's Office explained, "There was another officer who was checking back with her. And when he drove up on the scene she was still pinned in and he pulled the car back in reverse so she could fall to the ground."


The driver of the truck who caused the accident is being tested for alcohol. He was taken into custody. The deputy is in critical condition.
