As to the shaved balls....I don't have any. However, I do get waxed on a regular basis. I can't imagine that would be pleasant for somebody's boys though.

Yeah i did. It´s not my usual hangout zone anymore due TO FUCKING KNOW IT ALL COCKGOBBLERS like Toronto and Maindawg. K9cobo stepped down a little now (PM)but that post against you was totall bullshit. Slope go look at other posts in the K9 section from MEN wanting to be K9 and see how they answer in those! You will see a huge difference. Fucking fakers. They are worse then the dogs they use cuz as soon as a woman stepped in the section they went nuts showing off. Losers went after me and i couldn´t figure why but maybe, just maybe its because i sent you some movies and we swapped email. They couldnt take that and wanted to show you they were better. Well we saw what a fucktards they were. It´s handlers like that that give the US such a bad name. Don´t listen to them as they actually have search and rescue dogs and so (check their personel info). Ask MP handler or if you still dare after all that bashing, ask me. Or better yet, do it and find out yourself!

Don't worry-it seemed that way to me too. I couldn't figure out what the hell I did to make them mad at you but maybe you're right in the 'it's a girl-ooh ah, let's act like retards' response. I do have to say though that Maine apologized to me in pm as well. As for k9cobo-at this point, I hope he feels better after slamming me-but whatever gets your rocks off I suppose.

It's definately getting sketchy over there on the big O. I'm spending more and more time over here.... Ah well. Thanks for those vids by the way....very neat to watch but since I don't know much yet, their instructional value is about nil for me currently (as I don't know what they're being judged on or what I should look for in a good-performing animal).

I am excited about getting to volunteer with the k-9 unit down here soon. I'm hopin that'll clue me in more than any of the reading I've been doing. See ya around (here hopefully).

The vids are mainly to get you more hyped up LOL! Important things are: dog holds on after one bite, dog lets go on command, dog only bites arm or leg. That´s it. I would like to give you one more tip for when you go for K9 collection. Connect with the dog. Probably part of the selection will be that you get a dog and have to let it do some minor things (sit, jump, stay sort of stuff.) Now if you take a K9 it will at first just look at you like "your not my handler" but if you connect with it by taking to it and showing him he can sort of trust you eventually he will do it. And that´s what they are looking for: your ability to connect with a dog. We have a handler over here who can´t. He got my place in K9 as i have been put on a (deskjob) taskforce for a long time now (career thing). Anyway this guy just grabs the leash walks over to the obstactle or whatever, barks the command and walks away with the dog. Nothing more. He flunked selection 3 times but had to take him because of the above. He has improved under constant training but it´s still not there. Now the other K9´s carry the dogs favorite toy around, make physical contact constantly and just talk to the dogs the whole time. The dog is praised while doing it´s obstacle or biting the decoy constantly. When they are done the handler ges nuts with the dog and the dog jumps up and down and you would swear it´s smiling. And that is the trick. Then you get a dog that will do anything for you IF YOUR MALE OR FEMALE OR BOTH.

So connect by voice and strategical touching. I don´t know if know about how and where to touch a dog that you don´t know but let me know if you want some tricks.

Photo, the post in K9 section in wich slope asked for some advice turned out in a dick size contest when some "handlers" started in on me for a reason i still don´t know.

Thanks for the info. The vids. makes a lot more sense to me now. I know what you're saying about bonding with the dog-there was a male handler in OCMD when I was a cadet there that treated his dog like a computer or the car. Reciprocally (is that a word?), there was a female handler in the same dept. who thought her dog was just like a pet (one with no discipline mind you) and couldn't get it to do a damn thing. The dog walked all over her. There was also another male and female handler who were excellent. I got a lot of my exposure from that female handler who took me to her public demonstrations for kids and let me help her train by providing a fresh new scent to track. She taught me the basics I needed not to get myself bit and how to show approval to the dog with toys, verbal and non-verbal encouragement, 'petting', and the like. Unfortunately, her dog died and she left the field (at least for awhile).

Sorry to hear you've been desk jockeyed-but hey-if it's what you need to do for long-term, then you have to do it and you might as well do it well. I'm saddened that I'm leaving regular police work after so short a stay (and before I got to run with a larger department). However, career-wise it's probably best and if it doesn't work out.....police are always hiring somewhere. I'm only 22 so I figure I have a few years before I have to worry about being too old to get back in the game.

I'll be sure to keep you posted on my K-9 adventures. Apparently it's slower right now for training because of the cold (don't need as many volunteers) but they have spring sessions lined up they're going to get me into.

wow, i havnt been to the k forum at ocom in such a long time. i was totaly unaware of that garbage that is going on there. that realy pisses me off. just as cold zero stated. it gives us handlers a bad name..fucking great.

Slopegrrl if you have any questions about K9 ask and i will answer the best to my abilities Without any stigma. i'm sorry that you had a bad experience with K handlers. we are supposed to be more professional then that

Thanks MP. I appreciate it. I've known a few handlers who were excellent, so thankfully my entire impression isn't based off of the crap that's going on over there. I'll certainly keep you and Cold in mind when I undoubtedly have more questions.

I wasn't trying to come off badly over there....I just thought my thread had turned into some ruler game (who's the biggest dick?) and I was getting tired of people picking fights just for the hell of it with Cold (especially since he was the only one to pm me with extra info). I think the children over there need a playground monitor but I'm just a dumb rook so what do I know. And besides....apparently I have a bad attitude and am a know-it-all. I'm surprised you guys over here even talk to me. I'm a horrible person who shouldn't be in policing as I'm not a team player and do not play well with others. (OK I swear this officially ends my rant).

So again.....thanks for the offer and for letting me know it upset you. It makes me feel a little better about it.

hmm..i'm over there now reading all of the topics in the k9 secdtion. it's realy sad..no, it's realy fucked up whats going over there. those few individuals do not represent the true K9 family. it's too bad i'm still banned from ocom becouse i realy have a lot to say and most of it wont be nice.

i think you did the right thing in your own topic that you started so dont even think twice about that.

I'm really not sure what the hell happened. It's like logic, reason, and humor were sucked out of the general membership when no one was looking. It's rather frightening. Gives me the heebie jeebies.

Yeah well i severly dislocated my shoulder for the second time a couple of months ago, it was out for 3 hours, and am training my ass off to get that fixed. Also fractured my hand a year ago and had 2 bruised ribs. This was exactly the week of K9 selection ofcourse. But i my beautifull baby girl is almost one and i decided to not go on with K9 untill she´s older. So now i work across the road with a task force wich has all the money. We use secret video cams with live feeds, car trackers, wire taps on everyone who ever came in contact with the suspects, gps cell phone locaters etc etc it´s just to James Bond! My mouth hung open my whole first day there. So career wise it´s great to hang out there for a while, it´s rather interesting as they only handle really really big cases, and then go back to my unit. Also it gives me time to train, i´m 2 minutes from work and my unit is falling apart at the seems at the moment so it´s not bad for me to be away for a while.

I think i missed the fact that your leaving the police, how come and what ya gonna do?
