RE: Pics?

ok, its pretty simple simple to do, even i figured out how to do this.

use a image hosting site such as photobucket or tinypics

tinypics
imageshack
photobucket -requires registration

open up MSpaint to save your picture

open the image host you chose..i used tinypics for these instructions

hit browse to find the picture you want to use

after you selectected the picture click on host

now copy the link and paste it in your topic or thread

again easy..if you find a picture you like from a certain webpage right click on the image to save. open MSpaint click "edit" then "paste" and save as a JPEG. to take screen shots like i did for the how to press "alt" and "print screen" at the same time. open MS paint and click "edit" then "paste" and save as JPEG. go ahead and try it out...too easy

open image shack up and paste the address or URL and then click on "host it"

click on image for full view
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

now copy the link and paste it where you want

click on image for full view

Thanks for the info. MP. I knew about the images but didn't know about the animation. Your directions are easy to follow and understand.

Not all gif's are animated, a standard gif allows transparency which is why they are often used, although when all browsers are able to support transparency in png's, then they will probably become the standard as they are far more superior to gif's.

Clear as a whistle MP. One quick question though.

Why ALT+Print Scrn? I usually use Print Scrn...what's the difference?

Alt+Print Scrn will allow only the prevailing window to be saved as a screen shot as opposed to Ctrl+print Scrn which willtake a screen shot of the entire screen

Hmmm. For some reason MP, no matter what I do the picture is full screen. Any ideas why?

Maybe 'case you're a hooker?

are you trying to make a screen shot of a Window?

if that is the case hold Alt and PrtSc at the same time

You already said that. I tried Print Scrn, CTL + Print Scrn, and ALT + Print Scrn. I got the same entire window shot with all of them. Does it matter which OS you're running?

It's not a big deal really. It's just that every time I paste the picture I have to crop things off, etc....It would be less time consuming if I could do what you do.

Thanks my little gremlin.

i dont know then..usually thats the standard way of making screen shots..

hmm, maybe its just you're not coordinated enough to press both buttons down at the exact same time. or i bet it's your gremlin

this is a long shot...when you open paint to paste the screen shot try using Ctrl + V insted of clicking on Paste

Thanks my favorite fetish. But it's a no-go. I've tried 10 different ways now (hehe), but none of them did the trick.

I'll keep to my usual way until whenever.

Make sure the window is actually active and not the screen, if you left click what is viewable of your desktop then that means the screen is active, and everything will be captured.
Left click on the window that you want to be active, then try and you should be able to capture just the window.

I'm sure what the difference is between click the screen, and clicking the window. I usually just left-click the middle of the screen/window/picture whatever it's called and take the screen shot.

I uploaded my pic but I can't remember how to get it into my post.  When I paste the link, it just comes out as a link.
