More fukin house problems

OK so some of you might remember my issues last holiday season {Thats CHANUKAH for you non-jews} where my hot water tank blew the day of a big holiday party?

Well, I get up at 5:15 this morning and realize Hmmm its a little chilly in this house...

My furnace broke,  AGAIN.   I re-lit the pilot and it was ok.  Few minutes later, I go to check on it before I go to work,  FUCKIN THING IS OUT.  NO HEAT IN MY HOUSE...

The warranty company is not even there today...

I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE....

You can get a cheap space heater for about $25. At least it's something.

I am enjoying a nice warm house right now, hell it may be a little to warm. I may have to open up the window to let the 30 degree weather in.

Have a nice warm holiday weekend.

Well, age has nothing to do with the point of bad luck, or shitty "happenstances". I can give hundreds of examples of how "in general" it can fall apart much worse.

Case and point - In my yard I have a 155 foot tower I now call, "the ROD". The reason I call it "the ROD" is because it is a fucking lighting rod from HELL!. One year, it took a hit! Basically, everything that used electric in my house,,, was a smoldering pile of poo poo!!!! 10's of thousands of $$$$$$. If that wasn't bad enough, it seems insurance companies have a policy that anyone stupid enough to have a 155 foot lighting rod, must want to get hit, and therefore does not qualify for said insurance payment!!!!! Eat that one a couple of times! :)

You make sure that you shut the gas off AT the furnace--there is a shut-off not too far from it. That is fire code!!

Ok I didnt have time last night to post since we had the party.

Things went well with Turkey day, food good, good wine, etc.

Today I got up at 515am and it wasnt as cold as the other night. Since we had cooking and people over it was actually ok.

We were BUSY at work with a few big accidents and stuff so my wife who was home had to make the calls.  She called me and said the warranty people were rude.  Blah blah blah.  The company that 'fixed' the furnace in April was the company that returned,  YES they came by today at around 2:45pm.  She just got home in time from work to meet the guy.

He says Hmmm its not the thermocouple but the gas valve,  I can temporarily fix it and get u heat but Ill be back in a few days with a new valve.
He said if the pilot goes out, just relight and get heat.

OK,  Muthafucka better be back by mid next week as its going to be in the 60s all weekend but by next week back to the 30s...

I did shut the furnace off, no need to shut the gas valve off but the pilot was turned off.  Its ok now.

Thanks for askin

Highest one I've climbed is 420 foot. It was a much higher-grade level tower so it didn't bother me. However the one you see in the pic is meant to go up to about 60-80 foot. So taking it to 155 and then gueying the shit out of it puts incredible stress on it. Which is to say, it's amazing they stay up. On top of that, climbing said tower puts more stress on it, and then throw in some wind and a little imaginative thought process during the climb, and you will find yourself communicating with your maker before you get back to the ground. :)

in the past, the houses and appliances were built to last, and had good quality work.

Now the houses go up in a week, we have assembaly lines in mexico and china and import every thing..........

and it crashes in 15 years or less.

so much for quality.
