It appears one victim tried to rescue the other By Jessica Willey
(11/20/06 - KTRK/HOUSTON) - Harris County constable deputies found a couple dead in their swomeng pool at their home on Willowcrest Court and Creekview in Northwest Harris County.
Looking back all the signs were there. The TV left on in the upstairs bedroom and the paper still at the curb.
But it was the groceries left in the vehicle with the door left open overnight that prompted a neighbor to call for help. When help arrived at the nicely decorated home, there was nothing they could do.
Deputies found two bodies floating in the backyard pool. They were the homeowners, a husband and wife. Nothing was stolen and investigators believe the deaths appear to be accidental.
"There are cleaning supplies to show they had been cleaning and it appears one victim fell into the pool and the other tried to retrieve the other person and they also drowned," said Sgt. Joel Araguz of the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The couple were in their seventies and not in good health according to neighbors. A person that lives next door heard the couple yesterday afternoon but nothing since then.
The victims' names have not been released. Neighbors say the couple lived in the house for about a year and didn't use the 11 foot deep pool often.
Now this is a heart breaking sotry, but this couple had no business getting a pool in the back yard at that age. Its very scary because I think about My mom and dad had one untill we sold the house after my dad died. The nice thing is at least they went together, and the other didnt die of heart break.
the neighbors at least noticed the car door open..........My parents neighbors talked to them, checked on them and snuck brownies to my dad.....

Unless they had cognitive problems, I wonder why they would leave groceries in their vehicle with the door open and then go in the backyard and clean.
what is suspected is that he was cleaning the pool and then she came home. Thats a comment I heard. But they were in their 70's, along with health problems, so there could have been other factors in there. Its just sad.
