it's hard to kill spiders with posion, they will not get enough posion on them to kill them unless you spray them directly. Spiders are hard to get rid of, I know that's not what you want to hear. Keep a shoe close by!!!

do you live in an apartment or house? There is some stuff you can use outside the perrimiter of your house that will help. I can't think of the manufacturer but I buy it at Tractor Supply, it's the only stuff that comes in a large orange can. They have a powder for outside and a foam spray for cracks and crevices. It's for ants, but it works great on spiders! And it is pet friendly once the spray dries. The spray has this hose so you can spray under the base boards and stuff, it really works great!
I'll see who the manufacturer is when I get home and let you know.
