lol! no, its quite a good system actually. the media (read big business) puts a negative spin on it because of pressure by the pharmaceutical and healthcare lobby from the states that are DYING to get in and privatize the system so they can access the billions and billions of dollars spent each year on healthcare.

have a baby? not a cent. break your leg? covered. go to the doctor? done. we dont pay out of pocket. its cool.

havent had any in over a year. I know that blue cross and humana are suposse to be good. I have a pending job at this time that would give me full coverage at no cost to me...

but its not being covered that really sucks.

Bottom line is I can pay the doc out of pocket way cheaper then the premiums. It's amazon how much cheaper lab test get when you tell the Doc you have no insurance and refuse the test until the price drops....

And if something major happens as to where I can't work, I can't pay my bills anyway....

The insurance we looked at don't pay enough to cover any major cost.

So whats the difference if I add the hospital bills in with my bankruptcy.....

The American system is way against the individual.... If your not part of a group or company...your screwed

We have Humana now....through hubby's work. He pays a little out of pocket ...taken directly form his pay check.

When I was single; I was covered through my job. They wanted to switch Insurance company which meant a little would come out of my paycheck. I as saving money for a wedding and needed every cent I made. I almost passed on the insurance because....hell, I could afford the few doctor visits and BC pills....rarely needed meds. the manager was a friend of mine and begged me to get insurance because it was so important. I did. Good thing because 3 months later, I had an accident that almost killed me. My insurance company paid about $500, 000 total after all the surgeries, therapy, braces, titanium screws, donor tissue, etc....

I think my out of pocket deductible and co-pays was about 3,000. Far less than it would have been....My parents paid the Cobra premium which was in the 200's or so a month. It was a bit much, but cheaper than paying for the 4 knee surgeries, meds, and PT I had after my official last day of coverage.
