So today at work I was painting a shitty house, this house is so bad that I am afraid that when I touch a window its going to fall down. Well then after lunch I get a call on my cell phone to come out to a trailer park and wait for instructions. So finally another guy gets there, (USA wanna-be) and we pull off a cover off of a hole about 12 feet deep. There is styreoform and water/mud in there. The pipe broke over the winter and when my boss turned it on yesterday didn't realize about the break. So he wants me and USA to clean this hole out, so since I am the newest/youngest/cutiest person there I am chosen to go down into the hole for couple of hours. So we get most of it down, I am moving some big ass blocks around and there stuck in mud. Well I pulled a muscle in my back at about 3:30. The other guy is like keep on going, work it out. Its like fuck you dude. Well we quiet about 4, cause I basically yelled at him and told him I can't move anymore. So we have to turn in our time sheets today, and my boss said don't come in tomorrow. He instructed me to rest my back and be back on monday after the 3 day weekend. Some fuckin three day weekend this is going to be. Urrgggg. What does the TOP doctor prescribe for this?

The guy your working for is covering his own ass. Take it from a guy thats been through two back surgeries and is currently been laying in the sack for almost two weeks now still with back problems....This ain't nothing to fuck with.
If it's only a pulled muscle, a week or two and you'll be fine.
If it's disk thats screwed up, you want it documented and work comp to take care of you.
Point is, get it on record that it's happened and you did every thing you could to take care of it proper
Afer back surgery, I ca only say....."Watch what the fuck you are doing." Your back is nothing to fuck with. It has been 5 months since I had my surgery and I am still a little whacked. I have never been so beat down before. That back shit is no fucking picnic. bad disc and now i am shooting for 2. Just watch yourself, dork.

You think I made it up? Let me take a pic of my incision scar and stick it up your ass. You might get the picture.
I'm with Straight Up on this one. Get your ass to the Doctor.
A little Flexeril and you'll be able to relax your muscles AND your mind.
Otherwise you're just gonna be in so much pain you'll be miserable and being tense is just going to make it worse.
Do you belong to a gym or have other access to a Hot Tub?
- They don't call me "Doc" for nuttin'

My hip burned for three years after the last surgery. Never could get the doctor to believe it. My guess is that it was damage to the spinal cord. Nothing at all wrong with the hip
Get something to take the spasms out so you can relax, spas are a good thing here.
O,,, I feel your pain buddy!!! Been there, done that. I believe I gave my horror story on another thread. JUST PRAY TO GOD there isn't anything permanently screwed up or I can honestly say, "You've had a life changing moment!" And that’s NO SHIT!

Broken knee.....that must of sucked... and hurt too I bet..
Not trying to take away from you... but a to loose a leg or a arm is easy compared to a back.
Hurting your back is like taking the foundation out of a house. nothing left to stand on.
And if you get into spinal cord damage, the tiniest move sends sheets of pain and fire down your legs. If you even think your going to sneeze, you best get your ass into the fetal position or you will wish for death when it hits.
Too many bad memories here....
I had a friend once that broke both his arms at the same time, I laughed my ass off every time he had to take a dump

Fuckin A. It is life changing, that's for sure. You learn how to do certain things all over again. I am so scared of the pain it causes that I am very careful what I do. And i wish at least once a day that I had done something different the day I slipped the disc.

Straight Up wrote: I had a friend once that broke both his arms at the same time, I laughed my ass off every time he had to take a dump You are mean, but funny then hell. Fuck I can't even fart right without it hurting.
HA HA.... that is what you get for comparing that assclown to me!! god is punishing you!! HA HA

No shit.... I've heard that having a baby is the worst pain of all.... but at least it's over with pretty quick. It don't go on for months on end. I can tell you a kidney stone is a joke compared to a good back injury.
The memory of the pain plays a part in every decision I make. even if it's as simple as picking up a coin I dropped or just leaving behind..... It just ain't worth it

O, don't forget the best part. Once you get used to not using it, then it gets weak. So when it feels better and you try to do something, you can't becuase your weak. THEN if you push it you pull your back out... LOVELY CIRCLE JERK!.
Straight Up wrote: Oh, and Toby..... that thing about drinking and numbing the pain.... I guess I can tell you now.... NOT A GOOD IDEA You will get numb....and stupid.... and wind up hurting a lot worse the next day Did you ever go see the Doc???
haha No shit. Doc gave me percocets. I took them felt fucking great. When I ran out of them and they wouldn't give me anymore, I thought i was gonna pass out from the pain. See docs are not suppose to give you that kinda of medication with disc injuries. You need to feel the pain. It is what keeps you from going too far. Wish I had known that. I would of told him to keep his pills.
I have a high tolerance for pain. This shit had me rolling on the floor and begging to be kicked unconscience. Trust me Toby, be good to that back. You are young and can prevent these kinds of problems. Use good posture, lift with your legs, and don't carry shit you know is to heavy for you.
Oh, and Toby..... that thing about drinking and numbing the pain.... I guess I can tell you now.... NOT A GOOD IDEA You will get numb....and stupid.... and wind up hurting a lot worse the next day Did you ever go see the Doc???
The back is doing good, my sister hooked me up to some shocking thing yesterday and that helped. Along with just time. I can still feel it if I turn the wrong way or move a little fast. I will take this next week a little easier to, just to give it time to heal little more.
And no I didn't see the doctor.
