I have a great work schedule if I do say so myself. I work 3 shifts of 12 hours one week followed by 4 days off and the next week I work 4 shifts of 12 hours followed by 3 days off. I work 7 out of 14 days, so in the long run I only work half the year, and I get a guaranteed 4 hours a pay period OT, and there is always more to be had if you want it.
So, here I am on my days off thinking that I am on a 4 day weekend and the clock strikes 8 PM, I am sitting down to watch Amazing Race on CBS and the phone rings. Hello? XXXX, why are you here? HOLY CRAP BALLS I forgot to go to work!!!!! And, so why is it in the LE profession that nothing can go unnoticed and everything must be pointed out and made fun of? Lets just say my attempt to sneak in the back door failed big time!
LMAO that's funny i have done that b4 i was scheduled a split shift from 11:00 am- 4: PM then 8 PM- 1 am yeah i only came in to close i could have sworn to God that i only closed that night I got there my boss had panicked she thought something bad happened I guess she tried to call my house my moms house lol I was at my ex's house that day and at the mall lol...I didnt get in trouble she was really worried though. because i never ever missed work even if i was sick i came in the only time i missed work was when i went to the hossy lol
I have the same schedule...however I have never forgotten to go to work. Others have, so don't feel so bad.
I couldn't go back to the five eights, no frekin way. Ya might as well do an extra four to get four days off. Whoooooeeeeee!
Plus if you add a couple of days here and there, you can be off for a month. I generally have to use Mapquest to get back! Some people forget their combinations on their locks!
AND with the amount of vacation time a year that I get, I can work it so out of the 6 months of das that I have to work, that I only work 4 1/2 months and still make the same!!
It would have even been better if you had gone away on a trip or something. Oh man could you imagine the wasted resources...you would never live it down.
I tired that after sleeping in on a day light savings day. I had just about made it before I heard a PA key up from a nearby car which I had thought was empty.
Learned this one the hard way too! Never, and I mean NEVER tell a dispatch via cell phone that your keys are locked in your running car, and hope she doesn't tell the world! Because once you get back in the car, you'll all kinds of messages on the computer!
