Woman Allegedly Stole Police Car After DUI Stop Armour Was Arrested One Mile Away

Email This Story | Print This StoryCHICAGO -- Chicago police said that they arrested a West Side woman after she allegedly drove off in the squad car of the officer who had just arrested her for driving under the influence. Veronique Armour, 22, was charged on Friday with one felony count of possession of a stolen vehicle and a misdemeanor count of escape from police. Police said that they also cited her for driving under the influence, obstructing traffic and driving left of center.
An officer reportedly stopped Armour Friday morning for driving on the wrong side of the street, but while the officer was removing Armour's car from the center of the street, she allegedly slipped out of her handcuffs, got inthe police car and drove off. She was arrested about a mile away .
