Dean Koontz Frankenstein Update

I know there are a few of us who are impatiently waiting for this last book, and I learned a little information about it today.

The third and final book of the Frankenstein series is called "Dead and Alive," and is expected to be printed and released in winter 2007 (probably sometime in November, I'm guessing).

He's got another book coming out in May, called "The Good Guy." Here's a synopsis:

"Timothy Carrier, 30, a mason, has a dry sense of humour. Tim's friend, Rooney, owns a workingman's bar, Lamplighter Tavern, where the eccentric customers inspire Tim's deadpan wit. On a Monday evening, the bar is nearly deserted. A nervous man, about Tim's own age, sits down one stool from Tim, orders a beer. He glances at Tim, then asks, 'Are you him?' His sense of fun engaged, Tim says, 'Who else would I be?' Tim's game is to sustain an oblique conversation until the stranger realizes his mistake. But it doesn't work out that way, and Tim's wayward sense of humour leads him into a very dangerous world."

Also, he has another "very special" book that he's working on for fall of this year, and there will be another Odd Thomas book but he hasn't started it yet.

An interesting tidbit that I didn't realize, none of the Frankenstein books were published in hardcover versions and the third one will not be either, unless he decides to release hardcover "collector's editions" of all three at a later date.

Hmm.....I am not much of a Koontz fan, but may take a look at this series, just because I  dont want to say I never tried.

It is excellent, I didn't read it until after the second one was out.  I am a Dean Koontz fan but had not read the series until MP actually told me about it and wisely suggested that I get both books at the same time because I'd want to read the second one right away, and (as much as I hate to say these words) he was right.

I am working on the first one right now..need to buy the next one to start as soon as I am done.
Its taking me forever because by the time I have some time to read; I am exhausted. I could read that book  one sitting, if I had a few hours to spare without getting up to tend to others......crap....I need a beach, my book and lots of sunscreen.

They are awesome..thanks for the suggestion.

Naturally, being the  geek that I am; I have been analyzing the New Race and Victor's sheer insane brilliance and how he is a little bit of every dictator, famous psychopath and mad scientist in the real world. There is a little bit of lunatic in every scientist.....

Nature has a way of creating chaos when you fool with it.....there is no such thing as perfect. ..never will be. Think of all the things we have tried to make better.....going against nature and the results.
(ie) Scientists are in the process of attempting to create a perfect , disease free human. They will be our Harkers and Werners in reality......

Thank you; I think about some things a bit too much. Maybe that is why it takes me so long to read some books. Also a reason why I have trouble sleeping, I guess.

Buttercup......I just read an article on MSN news about this new technique which involves making sperm from bone marrow. The scientists involved are toying with the idea of being able to eliminate man in the baby-making process. The end result could mean a woman can have sperm made from her own bone marrow.....fertilize her ripe egg and VOILA....baby with no man. The choices are endless......she could make sperm from her bone marrow and sell it to an unknown couple who would like a baby and VIOLA....little Frankentstein creatures that may possibly mutate running about.

Should this be a seperate thread..probably so...just put it in here to follow up the comment I made about the New Race.
