Sorry folks for my unannounced, unwanted and totally unexpected hiatus from the forums. I had some unfortunate computer problems that aren't totally resolved just knida rerouted. My wireless LAN driver died and spent forever trying to diagnose the issue from my ISP to Linksys router to finally HP themselves. Any body else think its retarded that you have to PAY $ to get product support when your warranty goes out? Paid almost a K for it 16mo ago and had to BUY an extended plan. They gave me the HARD sell too. I knew what they were doing, I was in sales for 10yrs before getting into LE. BUUUT..... I needed to get my computer up. I spent 45$ (my owners manual said 39 but they said they had a price change) for 1 Wks worth of tech support. Then it was determined it was my WLAN integrated card was bad after repeated attempts to get it going (downloaded new driver software, ran my recovery disc and even diconnected the card and reattached it) then they hard sold me 119$ for an extended plan which includes being able to send them my laptop free for a system diagnosis and free replacement parts. I could have just paid for the WLAN card 120$ plus tax but OBVIOUSLY the better deal was the plan. I got to wonder if thay sent me a virus or did something through an update that caused my problem or what they were doing would not fix so I would HAVE to pay. It seems like something nefarious did happen.
