When I talked to her the other day she said her crusie was over on the 26th so she should be back somewhere around then. I agree, she does need to hurry and come back.

Haha, one one hand it seems like I was gone for such a long time, but on the other hand it seemed to go by so quickly. I haven't downloaded any of my pics yet, I didn't get in until almost 2 this morning.

Now the fun really begins - I've unpacked, the suitcases are back in the basement and I'm already on the second of what will be four loads of laundry.
Except for the first couple of days after the ship departed, the weather was wonderful. For the most part, it was in the low 80s and sunny. From the minute I stepped out of the airport in LA that first day, though, it felt so good to be in sunshine and warmth.
The time zone change is kind of messing me up a little - in the last 18 days I've gone from 3 hours ahead of EST, to 4, to 5, then back again. I think it's going to take a couple of days to get back to normal. What's really funny to me at the moment and what I'd forgotten from my previous cruise is that I still feel like I'm moving.

I love the happy Kat dance!!
The trip was great, at some point over the next couple of days I'll download my pictures and post a few.
I tried to do as much as I could, I have no idea when I'll get back to Hawaii. I took a 2 hour horseback ride on Maui, then the next day just spent the day on the beach on Kauai. The next day was Honolulu and I went to the Arizona Memorial, the Punchbowl, did a city tour, then went to a luau that night. Then, the next day was Hilo and I toured (by bus and on foot) the Mauna Loa volcano - every time the tour guide said "magma" I thought about Dr Evil from Austin Powers. If I ever do go back, I want to hike through the crater next time instead of just walking around it. Then on Kona I did a coffee plantation tour, an island tour, and went snorkeling at Turtle Beach - that was my favorite part of the whole trip. It sounds silly, but I felt like I was in the middle of "Finding Nemo," the water was so clear and floating along with fish that I usually only see in aquariums or on a dinner plate was just beautiful. Because the water is fairly shallow, you're right there with the fish instead of seeing them from several feet away like you would if you were in deeper water. Oh, and when the ship departed Hilo it was nighttime and the route out of the harbor went past the active lava flow on the volcano, it was spectacular - it was extreme darkness with only the bright orange light of the lava.
The ship did stop in Ensenada for a few hours on the last day but I didn't get off of the ship. Oh, and I did load up on macadamia nuts and coffee.
So that was my trip in a nutshell.

Well, look at it this way - I'll be the jealous one later in the year, I used up a little more than half of my paid vacation time and January isn't even over yet.

Gets me every time I've been out for awhile ....
It does feel a little strange, actually. Going to work tomorrow will be even more strange.
And thanks TC and BBB.

The moving sensations have slowed down somewhat, and work hasn't been so bad. By the way, give me another day or two and I'll get that marinade recipe.
